Wedding Services
About 40 weddings happen at St. Bart's every year. It is a beautiful church in a great setting. St. Anne's, in Lower Penn is also licensed for weddings. We do all we can to really make it 'the happiest day of people's lives.
If you are thinking about getting married at our church do please come to our parish office on Tuesdays between 6 and 7pm. Cathy, our secretary, will tell you what you need to do, how much it all costs etc.
Also, if you would like to look at our church just drop in any time.
Here at St. Bart's and St. Anne's we can provide the perfect setting for your wedding, We can provide a Choir, Bell ringing and church flowers.
If you are having a small wedding you could consider the Oak Room for the Reception.
The rules about who can get married in any particular church have recently changed giving people a lot more choice. If you want to know what the new rules are, drop in and see us, Tuesday 6pm till 7pm
We are pleased to be offering the Marriage Preparation Course devised by Holy Trinity Brompton (the birthplace of the Alpha Course).
Couples invest a lot of time, money and effort in planning their Wedding day, and we would like to encourage them to invest some time in their relationship, developing skills and strategies to equip them for married life.
The course takes the form of a DVD, with time out to discuss topics as a couple. The sessions are run in a relaxed, non-threatening way (you do not have to share what you discuss with others on the course, and there is no role play!). The sessions cover:
- Communication (including family background, personality types)
- Commitment (including the marriage vows, and in-laws)
- Resolving conflict
- Keeping love alive
- Shared values (including priorities and expectations for the future)
The course is open to anyone who is engaged to be married even if you are getting married abroad or another part of the country If you are interested please get in touch via the Parish Office on 576809.
