The Well Foodbank
As Advent commences please remember the work of The Well foodbank; as it gets nearer Christmas we include those extras to make mealtimes more enjoyable for individuals and families. We are desperately short of everyday toiletries, household cleaning products and then in our Christmas parcels items like crackers, selection boxes, gravy granules, sauces, Christmas puddings, custard, mince pies etc. Thank you so much for your ongoing support - 'It is in giving we receive' - Kay Stokes
The Well food trolley is located at the back of the church by the door leading to the Oak room. http://thewellwolverhampton.co.uk
Painting in Penn will commence its next intake for new budding water colour artists on Tuesday 16th January 2023 at 2.00pm. Please contact Ron Mottram at
ron@rjmottram.co.uk or the Parish Office on 01902 576809 for further details. There are no vacancies for the Wednesday Evening Class. Ron Mottram.
Penn Pals
A Social Group for men
Penn Pals is being set up by a couple of blokes in Penn who have lived in Wolverhampton for over 100 years between them! They would like to set up a regular support and communication network for other men in the area.
We have found there are many men either caring for spouses, other relatives, young and old or simply now living on their own and we plan to hold regular informal meetings.
This will be a chance for respite, occasionally listening to speakers, or maybe joining trips or simply having a laugh! All will be welcome regardless of age.
Penn Bowling Club have kindly offered us a room free of charge. Tea and coffee will be available, or a pint and a cob if you fancy.
Our first meeting in November was a great success. Next meeting is Tuesday 19th of December and then fortnightly from Tuesday, 9th of Jan 2024. 7-9 pm. Please email us or call to let us know of your interest and whether you can make our meeting in December and help to map out our programme. martinstokes47@sky.com (07770 470 440)
Prayer with anointing during Advent
We are pleased to be able to offer prayer on a one to one basis, accompanied by anointing with oil, following Sunday 10.00 services (and some Saturday 5pm services) leading up to Christmas. If you would like one of our ministers to pray with you, either for a specific need, or a prayer for God’s presence and blessing on your life, please come to the Lady Chapel at the end of the service. You only have to share what is comfortable to you, and confidentiality will be respected.
Prayer changes things!
Mothers’ Union Carol Service will be held in Church on
Wednesday 13th October at 10.30am. Everyone is welcome.
The flowers in the porch this weekend are in loving memory of Michael Harrison
