Diocesan Day of Prayer 24 Hours of Prayer from 12 noon on Friday 22nd October Trysull Deanery Half-Hour: 3.30pm Friday 22nd Our Shared Diocesan Vision Prayer "As we follow Christ in the footsteps of St Chad, we pray that the two million people in our diocese encounter a church that is confident in the gospel, knows and loves its communities, and is excited to find God already at work in the world. We pray for a church that reflects the richness and variety of those communities. We pray for a church that partners with others in seeking the common good, working for justice as a people of hope."
★ Shaping for Mission ~ is a vital process currently underway across the Diocese, as we seek God’s vision for sustainable mission going forwards; being intentional about responding to the changes that are happening in the world; making decisions, including financial ones, according to God’s vision.
★ Deaneries have completed detailed reviews; and have created Vision Documents for their deaneries; now the final phase of SFM begins as the Diocesan Senior Staff review the Vision Documents and make decisions, seeking to turn vision into reality. As this exciting phase begins, we are called to pray ~ Will you join us?
★ Trysull Deanery’s half hour is: 3.30pm on Friday 22nd ~ if possible please set aside this time to pray
★ Join the Rural Dean & others in prayer at The Church At Perton or via https://www.youtube.com/channe...

WHY NOT JOIN A LIFE GROUP? There are several Life Groups running in our church, and we are looking for more people to join and expand our existing groups.
WHAT IS A LIFE GROUP? IS IT FOR ME? Life Groups are about helping each other to live LIFE God’s way – working out what it means to be disciples of Jesus today, and connecting our faith to the whole of life. It’s a great way to grow in your faith and to develop new friendships with people from a wide range of ages, backgrounds, and Christian experience.
Our Life Groups meet weekly, each with about 6-10 members. Although each group looks slightly different, the meetings are always based on the “4Ws”:
We have both daytime and evening groups. Some groups meet mainly or completely online, others in homes or in the Oak Room. Something for everyone! We would love more people to be involved in Life Groups, so if you would like to know more please speak to Janet Shackleton or Revd Ben, or email church office. |
CHRISTMAS FAYRE 2021Due to the current circumstances of Covid and keeping our helpers, supporters and parish safe, we have decided to cancel this year’s Christmas Fayre. New Church Heating System (Hurray!)
Work on our new heating system in St Bart’s has started!!!
Obviously there is going to be some disruption. Please can we all be patient and understanding in the knowledge that it is going to be great when finished. It will only be for a couple of months and it will be nice and warm for Christmas!
Inevitably, this project is going to be expensive and will be in the region of £90,000.
If you would like to make a donation, towards the heating fund, please put it in an envelope clearly marked “Heating Fund” (and don’t forget to Gift Aid it).
Alternatively, you can pay by bank transfer. If you would like the bank account details, please contact the Parish Office by email, look at a standing order form, or put it in a yellow envelope clearly marked “Heating Fund”.
Celebration of Life Service for the late Jean Farrands will be held at St Bart’s Church on Saturday 23rd October at 3.00pm – Everyone is welcome to attend.
Bart’s Butterfliesare meeting at Victory Hall, Lower Penn on Thursdays at 1.45pm

Many of you will remember Philip Swan who was Associate Vicar here. On Sunday 5thSeptember he held his retirement service in our Church. During this service Rev Ben was delighted to present the Bishop of Lichfield with a cheque for £5000 which will form part of a gift from the diocese to Matlosane who have been severely affected by the recent pandemic. We have received Thank You letters from several of the charities. If you have any suggestions for charities to receive a proportion of this money, in 2022, could you please put them, in writing, in an envelope addressed to me and posted in the outside Church office post box by the Oak Room door. Please continue to give generously. Thank You. Stay safe. God Bless.Anne Edwards Transforming Communities Champion.
