PRAYER MINISTRY We would like to start to offer prayer ministry once more and are looking to build a team. We all need extra prayer at times- over an issue or a situation, just as a “spiritual boost”, or perhaps we are struggling to pray. If you feel this is something you could offer please either fill in a volunteer form, or speak to Janet or Alison. Training will be provided. DBS required as part of the safe recruiting policy.
Prayer for your needs
The prayer request board is now in place at the back of church. Please feel free to add any prayer requests for situations that concern you. These will then be prayed for by our WhatsApp prayer group, and in our daily Morning Prayer. Please ensure that if names are used, that the person has given permission. It would also be wonderful to have any updates or answers to prayer.
The Well FoodbankParticularly needed right now are tinned vegetables of all kinds, especially tinned potatoes, tinned fruit, rice pudding, any other tinned puddings, rice and pasta sachets, toiletries, large size nappies. Other tinned or dried items also welcome. PLEASE AVOID out-of-date items, opened packets & fresh foods, as these cannot be used. Call to prayer from the Archbishops of Canterbury and York:
As Christians, our response to a crisis must always be rooted in prayer. And so we invite you to join with us in praying most earnestly for an outpouring of the Spirit of God, that the world may once again choose peace, strengthening those international bodies that enable us to work and live together as one humanity inhabiting one world.
We lament with the people of Ukraine, and we pray for the innocent, the frightened and those who have lost loved ones, homes, and family.
We pray for those in Ukraine who suffer grievously, for all who take decisions around the world, and for the people and leaders of Russia too.

PRAYER DIARY April 2022
1. | Today is often called All Fools Day. Psalm 14 is a comment on this attitude, “The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.” Lord, help us to live for You each day. |
2. | We pray for the people of Ukraine, and pray for this war to end. Strengthen those who cannot leave, and help them to get the things they need day by day. Be with those who have fled and are seeking help. |
3. | SUNDAY We give thanks for all our clergy and lay readers. Help us all to hear the Lord through them. Be with Ben as he supports the people in Tamworth, and keep him safe as he travels each day.
|
4. | Monday - Coffee Morning day - thank you Joy, Sally and Jo who work so hard to make it a success. May the lonely find friends. We give thanks for the Hoodie Choir who meet to practise this afternoon. |
5. | We give thanks for Anthony Arul who serves the Lord as vicar in a church in Malaysia, a country where it is not always easy to be a Christian. Strengthen and encourage him and his family. |
6. | We give thanks for all who come to the Midweek communion service, and Alison who takes this service. We also give thanks and pray for the work of the Mothers’ Union in the UK and worldwide. |
7. | We remember the clergy and people who live in our link diocese in Asia. Strengthen and encourage all those who seek to follow the Lord.
|
8. | We give thanks for all who work in our schools. As they break up for Easter we pray that this will be a time of rest and refreshment for the staff and pupils. |
9. | We give thanks for all who come to the Saturday services, morning prayer and 5.30pm communion We also give thanks for our band and pray for them as they lead our worship this weekend. |
10. | PSALM SUNDAY Today we remember the time when Jesus rode a donkey into Jerusalem, knowing that suffering and death lay ahead. |
11. | We give thanks today for those who live and worship the Lord in our link diocese of Matlosane in South Africa. We pray for the clergy who travel many miles to visit their parishioners. |
12. | Strengthen and encourage all who serve in our Emergency services, and protect them from those who would harm them and their vehicles. We also pray for all who attend the Knit and Natter group. |
13. | We pray today for victims of crime, who due to recent cuts, find it difficult to access the help and support that they need. |
14. | MAUNDY THURSDAY A day for meditation as we remember the time when Jesus spent special time with his disciples at the Last Supper. Jesus knew that he would soon face terrible suffering and death. |
15. | GOOD FRIDAY There is a green hill far away outside a city wall, where the dear Lord was crucified, who died to save us all. He died that we might be forgiven, he died to make us good, that we might go at last to heaven, saved by his precious blood. |
16. | Today we pray for Melissa, that she will continue to be refreshed and strengthened as she spends time at home studying. We pray for the Alpha groups she has been leading recently. |
